SBI PO exam 2019 – Important Dates

  • The notification for SBI PO exam 2019 is expected to be published on the official portal of SBI in the month of April in 2019.
  • Candidates can apply online for SBI PO 2019 from April 21, 2019 to May 13, 2019. Within this time period only candidates can do the modification in their submitted application form and submit the fee online.
  • SBI PO application form will be available online on the official website of SBI in the month of April.
  • Candidates will be able to download the call letters for SBI PO Prelim from May 18,2019.
  • The SBI PO 2019 Exam Date is expected to be conducted on 1st, 7th & 8th of July 2019.
  • The result of SBO PO exam 2019 will be released on July 15, 2019 and the call letters for the SBI PO 2019 mains examination will be available on the website from July 20,2019.
  • The main exam of SBI PO 2019 will be conducted on  August 4,2019.
  • Candidates can expect the result of mains exam of SBI PO 2019 around August 20,2019.

Application Fee

The fee of SBI PO application form for general category is Rs 600/-. SC/ST and PWD candidates need to pay only Rs. 100/- as fee for the SBI PO application form.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO

Here are the details of SBI PO eligibility according to the candidate’s age and educational qualification.

Age

To apply for the SBI PO vacancy, the candidate’s age must be in between of 18 to 30 years as on April 1,2019.

Candidates from SC/ST will get the relaxation of 5 years in the age limit and OBC candidates’ will get the relaxation of 3 years in age limit. PWD candidates will get the age relaxation of 5-15 years. Candidates with J&K domicile will also get the benefit of age relaxation as per the rule.

Educational Qualification

Candidates who have completed their graduation from a recognized university in India are eligible to apply. Candidates in the final year of their graduation also fulfill the criteria of SBI PO eligibility.

Number of Chances

There are only limited attempts available for the candidates to get success in SBI PO. Here are the details of same.

  • General category candidates: 4 chances
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates: 7 chances
  • SC/ ST category: no restriction

SBI PO 2019 Syllabus

The SBI PO 2019 prelims exam syllabus comprises English Languages, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability.

The English part of SBI PO 2019 syllabus consists of reading comprehension, fill in the blanks, miscellaneous, para jumble, error spotting, multiple meaning, etc.

The Quantitative Aptitude in SBI PO 2019 syllabus includes simplification, profit & loss, work & time, time & distance, number system, etc.

The reasoning part of the syllabus of SBI PO 2019 will have data sufficiency, blood relation, logical reasoning, input out, etc.

SBI PO Exam Pattern

To start preparing for the SBI PO 2019 exam the candidate should be familiar with the SBI PO exam pattern. SBI PO exam is conducted in two phases. The first phase is prelim exam and the second phase is the main exam.

SBI PO Exam Pattern for Prelim Examination: As we have mentioned above the prelim exam checks the knowledge of candidates on English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning. The prelim exam is of total 100 questions. 30 questions from English language, 35 questions from quantitative aptitude and rest 35 questions are taken from reasoning.  Each question carries one mark and duration of SBI prelim exam is 1 hour. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks of candidates will be deducted, so say no to guesswork.

SBI PO Exam Pattern for Main Examination:  The SBI main exam will have 4 sections namely Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General Awareness (Banking and Economy) and English Language.

SBI PO main exam will consists of 45 questions from Reasoning and Computer Aptitude for 60 marks. 35 questions from Data Analysis & Interpretation for 60 marks, 40 questions will come from General Awareness for 40 marks and 35 questions from English Language for 40 marks. The total marks of the main exam of SBI PO will be 200. The duration of the exam will 3 hours.

Selection

Selection of the candidates for SBO PO 2019 will be on the basis of merit list. As of now, there is no clarity on the number of vacancies for the SBI PO 2019 but we are expecting that the numbers will be more than 2,000.

    • Minimum 60% marks for General category candidates and 55% for SC/ST categories. Even candidates with 55.99% and 54.99% are not eligible to apply.
