Eligibility Criteria
Know the educational qualification and age limit to apply for the vacancies in SAIL Rourkela. Candidates from the reserved category will be entitled to the relaxation in the upper age limit as per the rules.
Management Trainee
- Candidates’ age should be 18 to 28 years to apply for this post.
- Bachelor Degree (full time) in Fire Engineering from Govt. recognized University Institution.
Jr. Manager (Safety) (E-1)
- Age of the candidate should be 18 to 30 years.
- Bachelor Degree (full time)- in any branch of I Engineering/ Technology from Govt. recognized University or Institution.
- Having practical experience of working in a factory for a period of not less than 02 years after acquiring a Degree in engineering qualification.
- Candidate must possess PG Degree or Diploma in Industrial, in Degree in Safety recognized by State Government
- He/she has adequate knowledge in Odia language
Dy. Manager (Boiler and Turbine Operation)
- Applicant age should be 18 to 37 years.
- Bachelor Degree (full time) in Mechanical Engineering from Govt. recognized University is required.
- Post Qualification experience of at least 7 years in operation and maintenance of the boiler.
Fire Operator (Trainee)
- The age limit of the candidate must be From 18 to 28 years.
- Graduation in any stream with Sub Officer course National Fire Services College, Nagpur and driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles.
Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operator)
- Age Limit to apply for this post in SAIL Rourkela is 10 to 30 years.
- Applicant must have done Matriculation with 03 years full-time Diploma in Engineering: Mechanical/ Electrical/ Chemical/ Power Plant/ Production/ Instrumentation with First Class Boiler Attendant Certificate of Competency.
Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)
- Age limit for this post is18 to 1 28 years.
- Matriculation with 03 years (full time) Diploma in Mechanical/ Departmental Metallurgy/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Instrumentation is required in educational qualification.
Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)
- Candidates’ age must be 18 to 28 years to apply for this post. The required qualification is Matriculation with ITI (full time) in the trade of Fitter — from Govt. recognized institute.
Fireman-cum-Fire Engine Driver (Trainee)
- Age limit for this post is 18 to 28 years.
- Candidate must have done Matriculation with a valid driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles with at least 01-years experience of driving of relevant motor vehicles.
Physical Standard
For Executive Posts
- Height: 155 cm for male and 143 for female.
- Weight: 45 for Male and 35 for female.
- Chest Expansion : 72 cm & 75 cm on expansion for male, 75 cm & 79 cm on expansion for female.
For Non-Executive posts (Boiler Operator)
- Height: 155 cm for male and 143 for female.
- Weight: 45 for Male and 35 for female.
- Chest Expansion: 75 cm & 79 cm on expansion for male, 70 cm & 73 cm on expansion for female.
For Non-Executive posts (Fire Operator and Fireman-cum-Fire Engine Driver )( only for Male)
- Height: 167cm

APPLICATION FEE
- Candidates from General/OBC/EWS category will have to pay;
(a) Rs.500/- for Executive posts.
(b) Rs.250/- for the post of Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee), Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operator) and Fire Operator (Trainee).
(c) Rs.150/- (Rupees One Hundred & Fifty only) for the post of Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Fireman-cum-Fire Engine Driver (Trainee).
- SC/ST /PWD/ESM/Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
