- 21-year-old Harmaaz Kaur Sandhu was crowned the 70th “Miss Universe” in December, 2022 by her predecessor and 69th Miss Universe Andrea Meza (2020).
- She was awarded the title of “Miss Universe” 21 years after Lara Dutta was crowned. Both Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen called her “destined” to become the Indian Miss Universe.
- The first runner-up was Nadia Ferreira from Paraguay and the second-runner up was Lalela Mswane from South Africa.
