Steps to Enable or Disable Focus Assist

The Focus Assist feature offered by Microsoft for Windows 10 users can easy activated to deactivated in easy steps, let’s take a look

  • Open Settings.
  • On the click on System, you can see the Focus Assist option on the screen, click on it. Choose any of the three options as per the need: Off, Alarm only and Priority.  To disable Focus Assist and activate notifications from apps and contacts, choose Off. Choose Priority only to enable notifications from the priority list. To hide all the notifications and allow only that have alarms choose Alarm only option.

Enable or Disable Focus Assist Using Action Center

The other way to control focus assist is through Action Center, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the Action Center in the notification area.
  2. Alarms only go to Focus Assist. Here you will see three options.
    • Off
    • Priority only
    • Alarm only

Choose the setting as per your requirement.

Off Option

You will get all the notifications from apps and contacts if you select this option.

Priority Only Option

If you choose Priority Only option, Focus Assist all notification will hide and only notifications from contacts on your priority list will be available. A user can add contacts to the priority list from the People application on Windows 10. To assess this, click on the settings page of the Focus Assist. To make the changes press the customize your priority link to make the changes.

Alarms only Option

Choose this option if you want notifications from only specific applications after an alarm. Use Alarms and Clock application on Windows 10 to create alarms.

Did Focus Assist Replace Quiet Hours in Windows 10?

Although both Quiet Hours and Focus Assist have similarity in the functionality, Focus Assist has more customizable options. And to answer the questions, yes, Focus Assist replaced the Quiet Hours.

Is ThereDo Not Disturb feature in Windows 10?

Yes, Focus Assist of Microsoft has the same functionality as do not disturb of the Apple. The names are different but the purpose and functions are the same.
