CTET is an acronym of Central Teachers Eligibility Test. So, as the name suggests CTET is conducted to determine the capabilities and eligibility of the aspirants who want to have their career in teaching. CTET is a national level exam which is conducted to recruit the teacher for that schools which come under the administration of central government. Here we have summed up all the important information related to CTET 2019.

 Overview of CTET 2019

CTET is a national level exam. Since 2018, CBSE was the exam authority for CTER but for CTET 2019, NTA will organize the exam.

This exam is organized to recruit the Primary and Elementary level teachers in KVS, NVS, Tibetan Schools, schools in Union Territories and other state governed schools. Once an applicant gets the certificate of eligibility in CTET then the certificate will be considered valid for the next seven years.  There is no clause of vacancies in this exam. If you clear this exam then you will be able to teach in the aforementioned schools.

  • CTET 2019 vacancies may vary from state to state.
  • If you the CTET certificate then you can also check in the state board governed schools for CTET 2019 vacancies. A few state board governed schools also consider the candidate with CTET as eligible to teach their students.

An aspirant with the following qualification can appear in CTET 2019 exam.

CTET 2019 eligibility criteria for Primary Teachers

  • To apply for CTET 2019, the applicant should fulfill one of the below mentioned criteria;
  • Candidate must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in a senior secondary examination or its equivalent along with a two-year diploma in elementary education. Candidates in the last year of diploma can also apply for CTET 2019.
  • If the applicant has scored 45% marks in a senior secondary examination or its equivalent and he has a 2-year diploma in elementary education (or in last year of same) from NCTE, the applicant can apply for CTET 2019 exam.
  • Senior secondary or its equivalent passed outs with 50% marks and 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) can make you eligible to apply for CTET examination.
  • Another eligibility criterion includes senior secondary or its equivalent, passed and appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduated aspirants or its equivalent along with a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education can also apply for the aforementioned job.

CTET 2019 eligibility criteria for Elementary Teachers

To appear for the elementary teacher exam of CTET, the applicant needs to fulfill one of the below mentioned conditions.

  • A graduate candidate either in last year or completed 2-year diploma in education.
  • A graduate applicant with minimum 50% marks in graduation and appearing in the 1st year of B. Ed can apply of CTET 2019.
  • A graduate candidate with 45% marks and appearing in the 1st year of B.Ed from with NCTE will be eligible for CTET.
  • Senior secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% marks and either passed or appeared in last year of 4-year graduation programme of A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Passed senior secondary or equivalent with minimum 50% and complete or appearing in the last year of 4- year programme of Bachelor in Elementary Education.
  • Graduated with 50% marks and passed or appearing in the 1st year of B.Ed (special education).

CTET 2019 Important Dates

Here we are mentioning the CTET 2019 important dates. These dates are tentative and can be changed in the future. We will about you if any change will occur in CTET exam date.

  • NTA may release the official notification of CTET 2019 by the last week of April in 2019.
  • After the official release of notification, the online application submission will also start in April 2019 itself.
  • CTET 2019 application form will be available for the applicants till May 2019.
  • The CTET 2019 exams admit cards will be available on the official portal of CTET in May 2019’s last week.
  • CTET exam date will take place in June 2019 and the result of the same will be declared by July 2019.

CTET 2019 Application Fee

  • Candidates from non-reserved and OBC categories, who are willing to fill CTET 2019 application form for only one paper will have to pay RS. 700/- and for both of the papers the application form fee is Rs. 1200/-.
  • Candidates from reserved categories will have to pay Rs. 350/- for any one of the papers and Rs. 600/- for both of papers of CTET 2019.

CTET 2019 Exam Pattern

CTET 2019 exam pattern consists of two papers; Paper I for primary teachers and paper II for the elementary teacher. In any applicant want to apply for both types of teaching practice then he/she has two fill application forms for both exams.

The duration for both of the papers is 2 hours 30 minutes. Both of the exams will have MCQs.  In CTET 2019 exam no negative marking will be done. For every correct answer, the candidate will be rewarded with 1 mark.

CTET 2019 exam pattern for Paper-I

  • 30 MCQs from Child Development and Pedagogy for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Language I (compulsory) for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Language II (compulsory) for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Mathematics for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Environmental Studies for 30 marks.
  • Total 150 questions will be asked for 150 marks.

CTET 2019 exam pattern for Paper-II

  • 30 MCQs from Child Development and Pedagogy for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Language I (compulsory) for 30 marks.
  • 30 MCQs from Language II (compulsory) for 30 marks.
  • 60 MCQs from the subject in which the applicant has specialty like Mathematics and Science, or Social Science or any other for 60 marks.
  • In Paper II of CTET 2019 also total 150 questions will be asked for 150 marks.
