Answer 1: Adani Airport Holdings (AAHL), a subsidiary and flagship holding company of Adani Group is all set to acquire Mumbai International airport for its airport business.

Answer 2: A resolution passed by the Kerala Assembly demanding the withdrawal of the Union Cabinet’s decision to lease out the Thiruvananthapuram airport to Adani Enterprises. Earlier in a proposal, the Union Cabinet approved the leasing of three airports i.e. Guwahati, Jaipur, and Thiruvananthapuram for 50 years through the PPP model.

Answer 3: Facebook has released a statement saying it will initiate a legal challenge against an order from the government of Thailand to take down a private Facebook group called “Royalist Marketplace”, which was created in the month of April and has more than a million followers. The platform discusses the monarchy, including reform proposals and political role.

Answer 4: India’s one of the most successful table tennis player Poulomi Ghatak has announced her retirement from the tennis career. She represented the country at the Commonwealth Games in 2016, at Melbourne.

Answer 5: Assam government has announced the extension of the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958  for 6 more months effective from 28th August 2020. The Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958 is an act of parliament that gives special power to the Armed Forces for maintaining public order in “disturbed areas”. The Act was introduced decades ago due to the increasing violence in the Northeastern States.

Answer 6: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently announced its plan to conduct the simultaneous sale and purchase activities of government securities under the Open Market Operations (OMO) for Rs 20,000 crore in two channels.

Answer 7: Guwahati, the Northeast Indian city, has opened the longest river crossing ropeway in the country across the Brahmaputra river. It took 11 years to complete this project.

Answer 8: The Chief of the Air Staff, Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, recently launched a mobile application called ‘My IAF’ as part of the ‘Digital India’ initiative. This app will contain career-related information along with job details that will be helpful for IAF aspirants.
