SEBI releases a recruitment notification to invite applications from eligible job seekers. To enter this institute, aspirants have to clear the Grade A examination as SEBI is a big institute, so it has vacancies in different posts such as in accounts, law, IT, and many others. Therefore, the eligibility criteria for the candidates are based on the vacant posts with SEBI.

SEBI recruits the best talent as a Grade A officer or Assistant Manager. Later on, the employee gets a promotion based on his work performance and improves the Grade and designation in SEBI. Generally, SEBI announces the vacancies on the following posts;

  • If you have any of the following qualifications, you can apply for the general stream vacancies announced by SEBI.
    • Master’s Degree in any discipline
    • Bachelors’ Degree in Law
    • Bachelors’ Degree in Engineering from a recognized university
    • CA / CFA / CS / CWA
  • SEBI hires law graduates in the legal stream. The applicant must have completed his law from a government-approved university.
  • Job seekers with a bachelor degree in Engineering can also apply to get a job in SEBI as Grade A officer. Here are the educational qualifications to get a job in the IT stream in SEBI;

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Electronics And Communication / Information Technology / Computer Science) OR

Masters in Computers Application OR

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a postgraduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers / Information Technology

  • If you are interested in working in the research stream of SEBI, then you must have a Master’s Degree in any one of the following streams; Statistics / Economics / Commerce / Business Administration (Finance) / Econometrics.
  • If you are a masters’ degree holder in Sanskrit / English / Economics / Commerce with Hindi, you can also apply to get a job in the official language stream in SEBI.

Recruitment Process in SEBI

SEBI releases an online recruitment notification to inform interested job seekers about the vacancies in the institutes. The aspirants can check their eligibility and apply online for the most suitable vacancy or vacancies (maximum 2). The selection process of SEBI has Phase 1 Exam, Phase 2 Exam and Interview.

SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern – Phase 1

According to the new guidelines of SEBI, the phase 1 examination will have two papers in 2022 instead of one. The phase 1 paper will be conducted online. Paper 1 of the first phase will have 80 objective type questions. The questions will be fetched from General Awareness, English Language, QA and reasoning. The maximum marks for paper 1 will be 100.

In paper 2 of phase one, the questions will be taken from management, accountancy, finance, economics, company act, and commerce. Here you will have to answer 50 objective types questions for a maximum of 100 marks. To solve paper 1, you will get 60 minutes, and for paper 2, you will have 40 minutes. So, time management at the exam hall will play a crucial role to clear this first hurdle to your dream job.

SEBI Grade A Exam Pattern – Phase 2

On qualifying phase 1 exam, you will have to appear in the phase 2 exam of SEBI. Here you will have to take two papers;

  • Paper 1 for all streams. It will be having descriptive questions from the English language.
  • Paper 2 for the general stream will have questions based on commerce, economics, management, costing and other related topics.

Interview

After qualifying phase 2 exam, the candidates are to face an interview. A merit list is prepared based on the interview and phase 2 exam marks. The candidates get the job offer in SEBI according to the merit list.
