Answer 1: On May 8, 2020, AIIB (Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank) approved 500 million USD for India, which will help scale up the Covid-19 containment efforts and help strengthen the health system. The AIIB approved funds are to be used for Emergency Response and Health Systems Preparedness Project which will help manage future outbreaks.

Answer 2: The Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development has recently announced many amendments to Prime Minister Research Fellowship Scheme.

Answer 3: On May 8, 2020, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) will start its clinical trials on two drugs; Favipiravir and Phytopharmaceutical. The clinical trials for the drugs are approved by the DGCI (Drug Controller General of India).

Answer 4: The Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with the TATA POWER SED for modernizing infrastructure of 37 airfields of Indian Air Force.

Answer 10: China had launched a new rocket – Long March 5B and a deep-space spacecraft from its Wenchang launch site in Hainan. Long March 5B rocket is a massive vehicle, which is also compared with NASA’s deep space Orion capsule. With this rocket and spacecraft, China has planned to operate a permanent space station and aim to send astronauts to moon.
