Answer 1:  Tirunellai Narayana Iyer Seshan was the 10th Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), who served between 1990 and 1996. He recently passed away at age of 87 years due to a cardiac arrest.

Answer 2: On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court gave a verdict on Ayodhya Ram Janma Bhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case. Supreme Court announced construction of Ram Temple in the disputed 5-acre land and gave 5-acre land to Muslims at a different location. The verdict came from a 5 judge bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, which comprised of justice S A Bobde, Ashok Bhushan, D Y Chandrachud and S Abdul Nazeer. 

Answer 3: The multiplayer version of the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) interactive mobile game named ‘Indian Air Force – A Cut Above’ was launched. The game gives the thrill of flying a combat aircraft. Earlier the game had a single-player version, which was launched on May 31, 2019 by then Chief of Air Staff (COAS), B S Dhanoa.

Answer 4: The Navies of India and Indonesia held bilateral naval exercise – ‘Samudra Shakti’ in Bay of Bengal on November 6-7, 2019. Year 2019 was the 2nd edition of this bilateral naval exercise. The inaugural edition of this naval exercise was held at the port of Surabaya, Indonesia in November 2018.

Answer 5: Country’s first indigenously designed standing wheelchair has been launched by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. The wheelchair is named as ‘Arise’ in presence of Thawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Answer 6: Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs, launched ‘ATITHI’ app, an IT initiative to facilitate electronic filing of customs baggage and currency declarations by arriving international passengers.

Answer 7: NASA’s solar system explorer named “Voyager 2”  has exited heliosphere and has reached the interstellar space and is now at 11 billion miles from the earth.

Answer 8: The Freedom of Net report 2019 titled “The Crisis of Social Media”, released by the The Freedom House recorded an overall decline in global internet freedom status between July 2018 and May 2019. India was reported “partly free” and obtained an overall score of 55.

Answer 9: Appointment of Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Aditya Mishra as the chairman of the Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI) has been approved by the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) chaired by PM Narendra Modi.

Answer 10: RBS India, the innovation and operations hub of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), announced RBS Earth Heroes Awards (REHA) 2019 winners. This year is the 9th edition of REHA with the theme ‘Climate Change’. Below listed are the RBS Earth Heroes Awards (REHA) 2019 winners:

Answer 11: Rajasthan Patrika group chairman Gulab Kothari has been awarded with the Press Council of India’s (PCI) Raja Ram Mohan Roy National Award for Excellence in Journalism. He will receive the award on the occasion of National Press Day i.e. November 16, 2019.

Answer 12: Madhuri Vijay has won the JCB Prize for Literature 2019 for her debut novel ‘The Far Field’. She is also a recipient of Henfield Prize and the Pushcart Prize.
