Answer 1: The Delimitation Commission was formed under former Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai. The commission has been set up for the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam and J&K.

Answer 2: The United Nations’ Global Compact study reported that female labour participation in India has declined from 34% in 2006 to 24.8% in 2020. The study surveyed 153 countries.

Answer 3: On March 7, 2020, Jan Aushadi Diwas was observed. The day is celebrated every year to commemorate the contributions of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana Kendras.

Answer 4: On 5th March 2020, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed withdrawal restrictions of Rs 50,000 for Yes Bank customer for a duration of a month. In case of medical emergencies and higher education fee, the limit is Rs. 5 lakhs.

Answer 5: MoU has been signed between the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) and Amazon to emarket the products made by self help groups in the country.

Answer 6: Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drug Administration has been asked by FSSAI to obtain the BHOG (Blissful Hygiene Offering to God) certificate, this step has been taken to ensure the quality of foods served at temples.

Answer 7: Lok Sabha passed the Direct Tax Vivad Se Viswas Bill, 2020 on 4 March 2020. The reason behind the introduction of the bill is to reduce the number of litigation linked to direct tax payments. The bill was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman during the Union Budget 2020.

Answer 8: On 5th March 2020, Google has announced that after Mumbai, it is all set to open its next cloud region of India at Delhi by the year 2021. This will be its second cloud region in India, the first was launched in 2017. It is interesting to know that Google owns a total of 22 cloud regions in Asia Pacific.

Answer 9: The mega merger approved by Union Cabinet will come into effect from 1st April 2020. The mega merger includes amalgamation of Oriental Bank of India and United Bank of India into Punjab National Bank (PNB). Also, Syndicate Bank will be merged into Canara Bank. The merger of Corporation Bank and Andhra Bank into Union Bank of India has also been approved. Allahabad Bank will be merged with Indian Bank.

Answer 10: The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 was “An Equal World is an Enabled World”. The theme for the year 2020 was
“Think equal, build smart, innovate for change”.

Answer 11: Luxembourg in Europe has become the 1st country in the world to offer all forms of public transport free across the country. It is the second smallest country existing in the European Union.
