Answer 1: The World Food Safety Day is celebrated every year on June 7 since launched by United Nations in 2019. This year, the world celebrated second World Food Safety Day under the theme “Food Safety, Everyone’s Business

Answer 2: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police, on June 5, 2020 has launched twin commands in Chandigarh and Guwahati to supervise its deployment of troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Answer 3: The ‘#iCommit’ initiative was launched by the Ministry of Power on the occasion of World Environment Day. The initiative driven by the
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EFFSL) is to encourage stakeholders to continue providing resilient energy system and efficient renewable power in the future.

Answer 4: Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, founder of Biocon, was named the EY World Entrepreneur of the year 2020, on June 5. She was chosen among 46 other entrepreneurs from 41 countries. She became the second woman and third Indian to win this award.

Answer 5: The Asian Football Confederation selected India for hosting 2022 Women’s Asian Cup and handed over the hosting rights to the All India Football Federation. This is the first time India will host this event since 1917.

Answer 6: The World Environment Day was observed on June 5. This year the day was celebrated under the theme “Celebrate Biodiversity”.

Answer 7: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the Ministry of HRD (Human Resource Development) on June 4, 2020, launched an internship learning programme called “TULIP” for fresh engineering graduates. Under this one year internship graduates will get opportunities to work with 100 smart cities and 4,400 urban local bodies in India.

Answer 8: Pakistan and China signed an agreement to implement Kohala Hydroelectric Power project in the region of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), which will be implemented under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. A tripartite agreement was signed between the Private Power & Infrastructure Board, Tripartite Gorges Corporation and the authorities in PoK for implementation of the project.

Answer 9: On 4 June 2020, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved re-establishment of Pharmacopoeia commission
for Indian Medicine and Homeopathy under Ministry of AYUSH.

Answer 10: The GoI will conduct SWADES (Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support) initiative to map the skills of Indians returning from abroad.
