Answer 1: World No Tobacco Day was observed on May 31, which is being marked by the World Health Organization. The day is celebrated to create awareness about the dangers of tobacco usage. This year the day was celebrated under the theme “Protecting Youth”.

Answer 2: The foundation stone for a missile park called “Agneeprastha” was laid at INS Kalinga on May 29, 2020. The Missile Park is to provide information on the history of INS Kalinga and the central attraction of the park is the anti-ship missile P-70 Ametist.

Answer 3: Madhya Pradesh Government has launched Rojgar Setu Yojana on May 28, 2020 to help migrant workers. Under this scheme employment will be provided to the migrant works who have returned to their homes.

Answer 4: The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence has been setup by Leaders of Group of the seven wealthiest countries in the world. The United States initially objected the partnership. However, the country is now joining the G7 in order to counter Chinese dominance in shaping international standards on facial recognition and surveillance at the United Nations.

Answer 5: The ban on exports of paracetamol Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients has been lifted by GoI. This action will now allow the export of pharmaceutical ingredients used for treatment of COVID-19.

Answer 7: The Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman on May 27, 2020, has launched the instant Aadhaar based E-KYC. This facility will be available for PAN applicants in possession of valid Aadhaar number.

Answer 8: The Uttar Pradesh Government is all set to implement Herbal Roads Project in a stretch of 800 km in the state, under which herbal tress that have medicinal values will be planted on either sides of the roads.

Answer 10: The World Health Organization (WHO) has suspended its trials on the efficacy of the drug Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for treatment of COVID-19. HCQ was one of the four mega trials that include Lopinavir and Ritonavir along with Interferon and Remdesivir.

Answer 11: The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) launched an Artificial Intelligence-powered chatbot called Pai, which aims to increase the financial inclusion in the country.

Answer 12: The World Hunger Day is observed on May 28 every year, which is an initiative under the UN’s Hunger Project. With the celebration of this day, the aim is to increase agricultural productivity, with which the world will be able to feed 820 million people living with inadequate food security. The UN also predicts that approx. 2 billion people will come under poverty and face hunger by the year 2050.

Answer 13: 2020, British author J.K. Rowling has released first two chapters of her new Children’s book titled “The lckabog”. This is her first children’s book since the Deathly Hallows and Harry Potter which were published in the year 2007. The story will be published in installments on website “The Ickabog” for free before its official publication this year in November.
