CSIR JRF UGC NET June 2019: Application Process Started

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has started to accept the application form for CISR UGC NET June 2019. Overview

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research conducts the CSIR National Eligibility Test (NET). This test is conducted to determine the eligibility of applicants for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and the appointment of Lecturers (LS) in certain subjects. Generally, these subjects are related to science and technology like Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences etc.

Important Dates

Interested candidates can apply for CSIR UGC NET 2019 now and the application process has begun. Here is the detail of important dates associated with CSIR UGC NET Online Form June 2019.

  • CSIR NET application form for June 2019 exam are available for the candidates from 25 Feb 2019
  • The last date to apply for CSIR NET June 2019 is 18 Mar 2019
  • The exam date for CSIR NET 2019 is 16 June 2019.

Application Fee

  • The application fee to apply for CSIR NET 2019 is Rs. 1000/- for the students from general category.
  • OBC candidates can apply for JRF and LS by submitting the application fee of Rs. 500/-.
  • For SC/ST/PWD candidates, the application fee is Rs. 250/-.

Candidates can submit their fee online through Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking.

Age Limit

  • For Lectureship, CSIR has not mentioned any age limit.
  • To apply for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) the candidates’ age should be not more than 28.
  • The cut-off date for the age calculation is 1 January 2019. 
  • Candidates from SC, ST, PWD category will get relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit to apply for CSIR UGC NET and for OBC candidates upper age limit will be 28+3 years.
  • To apply for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) the candidates’ age should be not more than 28.

Educational Qualification

  • To apply for CSIR UGC NET 2019 the applicant must hold an MSc or equivalent degree with at least 55 percent marks. Candidates’ from reserved category will be eligible with 50% marks in M.Sc.
  • Graduate candidates from any science or engineering subject with registration in Ph.D. or Ph.D. integrated program can apply for the fellowship programme.
  • Candidates who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991, with minimum 50% marks can apply for Lectureship.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on the candidate’s performance in the offline written test. In this test, multiple choice questions will be asked to the candidates. The test paper will consist of 200 questions.
