Answer 1: the National Disaster Management Authority launched the National Migrant Information System. It is a central online repository for the migrant workers. The online portal will help in inter-state communication to facilitate smooth movement of migrant workers.

Answer 2: The Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana completed 4 years since its launch and implementation in May 2016. The scheme has helped over 8 crore families so far. Under the scheme approx. Rs 8,432 crores have been transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Answer 3: The Sikkim Government celebrated its 45th Statehood Day on May 16. Every year the state celebrates its State Day on May 16 as the state came into existence on this day in 1975.

Answer 4: The World Bank has approved 1 billion USD aid to India for acceleration of “India’s COVID-19 Special Protection Response Programme”. This fund is to provide social assistance to poor, vulnerable households and severely impacted.

Answer 9: The United Nations’ recently released World Economic Situation and Prospects Report, 2020 says that the growth rate of India in the year 2018 was 6.8%, it was 4.1% in 2019 and it will reduce to 1.2% in the year 2020. The report also predicted world economy to shrink by 3.2% this year. Also the GDP growth in developed countries will reduce to -0.5% in 2020.

Answer 10: The COBAS 6800 RT PCR machine is dedicated by Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to the nation. The machine is placed in
National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Delhi as it needs Basic Safety Level 2 testing facilities. The COBAS 6800 machine is capable of providing test results of 1,200 samples in just 24 hours.
