Answer 1: Maharashtra Day is celebrated on May 1 every year. The day commemorates the formation of the state of Maharashtra which was formed on May 1, 1960.

Answer 2: May Day also called Labour Day or International Workers’ Day. May 1 was chosen to commemorate the Haymarket affair which occurred in Chicago on May 4, 1886.
