The National Institute of Design (Amendment) Bill, 2019 has been passed by Parliament, which was already approved by Rajya Sabha on August 6, 2019. The bill has been approved with the objective to establish the National Institute of Design (NID) in the States of Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Haryana as the institutions of national importance. The bill now awaits Presidential assent, and on approval it will become a law.
The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill 2019 has been passed by Parliament with the Rajya Sabha approving it by a voice vote on Nov 26, 2019. 17th Lok Sabha passed the bill on Aug 5, 2019. The bill now will be presented before president for approval, after which it will become a law. The bill is a proposed act of the Parliament of India with the objective to offer protection of rights of transgenders, their welfare, and other related matters.
Logo of Lokpal was launched by Chairman of Lokpal, Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose, at an event held in New Delhi. “मा गृधः कस्यस्विद्धनम्” (Do not be greedy for anyone’s wealth) was also adopted as motto of Lokpal. The logo adopted for Lokpal is a design created by Prashant Mishra, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ launched the kartavya.ugc.ac.in portal for holding monthly essay competitions for students. The portal was launched on the occasion of 70th Constitution Day called as Samvidhan Divas observed on November 26, 2019. This portal was launched as part of year long ‘Nagrik Kartavya Paalan Abhiyan’ being observed across the country.
