Answer 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana to alleviate the financial pain faced by farmers, migrant workers, urban and rural poor people amid the COVID-19 lockdown.

Answer 2: India’s first 100-bed COVID-19 dedicated hospital has been set up by Reliance Industries at Mumbai. The 100-beds facility is at Seven Hills hospital equipped with all modern facilities.

Answer 3: Walmart India has promoted Sameer Aggarwal as CEO. He joined the firm in April 2018 as EVP, chief strategy & administrative officer and in December 2018 was promoted to Chief Business Officer.

Answer 4: US President Donald Trump has invoked the Defence Production Act in order to direct General Motors to manufacture ventilators needed by the country to fight COVID-19.

Answer 5: The GoI and Japanese Government’s funding agency, JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency), have signed an agreement for three mega rail infrastructure projects, estimated as Rs 15,295 crores.

Answer 8: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on March 27, 2020, has declared the Hydroxycholoroquine as a Schedule H1 drug. GoI has restricted the sale and distribution of the drug, as it is declared as an essential drug for treating COVID-19 patients.
