National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP) provides single window service electors. First-time voters can apply for their voter id card from NVSP, view details of the Polling booth, get the details of booth level officer and voters can also apply for any correction in their voter id card.

In short, National Voters’ Service Portal (https://www.nvsp.in/) is the one-stop solution of all the problems related to voter id card. In India due to lack of awareness or sometimes lack of time, many first time voters could not apply for their voter id card. Now with the help of NVSP, it has become easy to apply for the voter id card or get it corrected without visiting any government office.

How to search for your Voter ID Card online

Follow the below-given steps to search out for your voter ID card online.

Step 1: Visit the website of electoral search, here is the link;  https://electoralsearch.in

Step 2: You can search for your name in the electoral list either by your details or by your EPIC number.

Step 3: Chose one of the aforementioned ways and fill the form, enter captcha code at last and click on submit button.

Step 4: If you can see your name on the screen along with details then your name is in the list or if you cannot find your name then you may have to apply for your voter id card.

So, let’s know how an Indian voter can enroll himself/herself as a general voter at National Voters’ Service Portal.

How to Get Registered on NVSP

To get registered on NSPV as the voter, the applicant will have to fulfill few conditions of Election Commission of India.

  • Applicant should be an Indian citizen and his/her age should not be less than 18 years.
  •  Your residence should fall in that area from where you have applied to cast your vote.
  • Applicant should not be disqualified to be enrolled as an elector.

If you fulfill all the above mentioned requirement of the Election Commission of India then you can register yourself on National Voter’s Service Portal.

First, check whether you are already registered as a voter or not? You can check it by visiting https://electoralsearch.in/. If your name appears in the voters’  list then you can cast your vote. If your name is not in the list then follow the below-given steps for the registration in NVSP.

Step 2: Fill all the information asked in this form. You will have to keep your photograph, age proof and address proof handy with you to upload them on the portal of NVSP.

Step 1: If you are the first-time voter then you will have to fill form 6. Form 6 will be available at this link; Form 6 . for NRIs Form 6 A is available, here is the link Form 6A.

Step 3:After doing all the formalities once you will submit the form then you will get a Reference ID. You can use this reference id to know the status of your application.

So you can apply for voter Id card by following the above mentioned three steps only.

How to Update Voter ID Card

NVSP also helps you if you need to make some changes in your voter Id card. For changes in your personal details such as name, Photo, Age, EPIC Number, Address, Date of birth, Age, Name of relative, Type of relation, Gender, you will have to fill form 8. Here you will have to mention the EPIC number and document to support your claim of changes.

If you have shifted your house from one place to another within the same constituency then fill form 8A but if you have changed the constituency then fill form 6.
