Answer 1:    A partnership memorandum was signed by the Uzbekistan President and the Gujarat Government during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit organized by the Gujarat State Government in January 2019. Under this partnership Uzbekistan sought support of India for conducting similar event.

Answer 2:    The 91st Interpol General Assembly will be held by India in 2022. This announcement is a result of overwhelming support of member countries of congregation 2019  held at Santinago, Chile in October 2019. Home Minister Amit Shah gave the proposal to Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to Delhi.

Answer 3:    The Maldives National Defence Force and Indian Army participated in a Joint Military Exercise called ‘Ekuverin’ held at Aundh Military Station in Pune, Maharashtra from Oct 7-20, 2019. This year marked the 10th edition of this military exercise.

Answer 4:    The World Statistics Day was declared by the United Nations Statistical Commission, is celebrated once in 5 years. It was celebrated first time in the year 2010. India celebrates this day on 29th June, to honor the birthday of statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis.

Answer 5:    Indian President Ram Nath Kovind is on his official tour to Philippines signed 4 agreements on science & technology, culture, tourism and maritime. The agreement includes sharing white shipping data, which is the information on identification and movement of non-military and commercial and vessels.

Answer 6:     Reliance Industries (RIL) has become the first Indian company to hit the market capitalization (m-cap) of Rs.9 lakh crore. It was also the first to reach Rs. 8 lakh crore mark in August 2018. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) followed RIL, at second number with a m-cap of Rs.7.66 lakh crore.

Answer 7:    30 agreements have been signed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) with 16 Indian companies for ToT (Transfer of Technology) with 16 Indian companies. The agreement has been signed to fulfill the requirements of Indian armed forces.

Answer 8:   Indian Railways will run its first Buddhist Circuit train from Oct 20-26, 2019 covering sites related to Gautam Buddha in India and Nepal.

Answer 9:    Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, has announced the road starting from Kapurthala, connecting Gobindwal Sahib and terminating near Taran Tarana in the State of Punjab as new National Highway, NH- 703AA orShri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Marg’, named after the first Sikh guru. This also marked the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.

Answer 10:   The Indian Army has started to digitize its official records under its new programme known as “OASIS”-Officers Automated Structures Information System. The software will be hosted in the Army’s intranet to digitize the records.

Answer 13:    Sri Lanka has been removed from ‘Grey List’ of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) after it has taken a few measures on financial security. The word ‘Grey List’ refers to a jurisdiction with strategic Anti-Money Laundering & Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) deficiencies.

Answer 14:   NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir made history after they moved to International Space Station (ISS) for first ever all women spacewalk. It was the first time that two women astronauts walked in space together.

Answer 16:      Sanctions have been imposed by US Government against the Turkish ministries for their military actions in Northern Syria. Actions are taken against defence and energy ministries of Turkey. Under the sanction all the Turkish assets held by the ministry in US will be freeze and will also ban all the financial transactions with them related to US.

Answer 17:       Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Anup Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new Director-General of National Security Guard (NSG), by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Answer 18:       Justice SA Bobde has been recommended by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi as his successor. CJI Gogoi sworn in as the 46th CJI on Oct 2, 2018 and will leave his office on November 17, 2019.

Answer 20:       Kais Saied is elected as the new President of Tunisia by winning against his rival, Nabil Karoui. Kais Saied won the presidential election of Tunisia with 72.71% of votes.

Answer 21:       Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will become the new president of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He defeated Brijesh Patel in a see-saw battle and is predicted as the only presidential nominee.

Answer 22:         Great Britain won over India with 2-1 in the final of men’s Sultan of Johor Cup hockey tournament held at Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Great Britain was also crowned champions in the year 2018.

Answer 23:      The 2019 Military World Games (Olympic Games for military) are being held from October 18-27, 2019 in the capital of Hubei Province, Wuhan, China. Chinese President Xi Jinping officially inaugurated the opening ceremony of the games.

Answer 24:       Barcelona FC captain Leonel Messi won the Golden Shoe for the 2018/19 season, for being the top scorer in the European leagues with 36 goals scored in 34 games. This is Messi’s 6th Golden Shoe.

Answer 25:       The 2019 Booker Prize was jointly won by Bernardine Evaristo and Margaret Atwood. The 2019’s judges were not allowed to pick two winners, but Peter Florence, the chair of the five-member judging panel, declared it a tie and declared two winners. The rules for the booker prize were changed after the last tie in the year 1992.

Answer 26:       The prestigious 2019 Nobel Prize for Economics was awarded to Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee, his wife, Esther Duflo, and Michael Kremer of United States for their ‘experimental approach to alleviating global poverty’. Their research is aimed to help world to understand, address and fight the daunting challenge of poverty.
