NDA is an extremely common thing that is asked by a number of teenagers. Especially the students going to 10th standard are utterly attracted to it and want to know about this examination. The main reason for students to be attracted to NDA is an opportunity to enter the Indian Air Force, Indian Navy and Indian Army. NDA Exam

NDA exam is famous among students who want to join the Indian Armed Forces Academy. This opens doors for candidates to join the Air Force, Navy and Army. The course is considered as first Tri-service academy that is in the world giving training for the three at a single place. In order to clear these exams, one has to clear off written exams and then these are followed by interviews and personality tests.

The candidates are selected once they clear NDA medical requirements, social skills, physical skills, psychological testing, general aptitude and team-building skills. This examination occurs twice a year where 350 candidates are selected every year. For the candidates that are interested in the Air Force, they have to participate in the Pilot Aptitude test. After this, the Army selected 195 candidates, Navy has 39 candidates and Air Force have 66 of them.

When the candidates are selected then they get entry to their respective academy for further training. After they completed their training then there is proper graduation held out for them. However, if a candidate suffers some serious issue then they can decline the commission as well.

Procedure Details

UPSC is responsible for organizing the NDA examinations. There are two forms of registration form such as online and offline mode. However, the eligibility criteria to clear exams is 10+2 pass. The basic process of selection is the Interview and Written Test.

  1. NDA Written Examination

The first examination is on the written basis where General and Mathematics ability of a candidate is checked. The total time limit given to a single candidate is 2 and a half hours with the total criteria of 600 marks for General ability and 300 for Math. In the question paper, a candidate is required to face objective type questions.

This whole paper is divided into two parts, one is for the General Ability and other for Math. The best part about these examinations is that they come in two languages English and Hindi. There are qualified score marked up by the government that changes every year.

  1. NDA SSB Interview

Once, a candidate cleared the whole process of written examination then they have to participate in the interview process. This part is organized by Services Selection Board – SSB where they check pilot aptitude, personality and intelligence of candidates. The Navy and Army candidates have to face Personality and Intelligence test whereas the Air Force candidates undergo Pilot Aptitude Test.

The test is on the non-verbal and verbal manner that test the knowledge. These tests occur in different tiers which will give the final list of candidates. They have to face Outdoor Group Tasks, Group Planning, Group Discussions, etc. In addition to this, there might be the Brief lectures that are given by the candidates in any of the specific subjects.
