What is the difference between CTET and TET   

The aspirants, who want to be a teacher, usually don’t know about CTET and TET difference.  Actually, both of the exams are quite similar. Both are the common entrance exam for aspiring teachers.  Both TET and CTET shares almost the same syllabus and exam pattern, but still, they are different from each other. Let us know how.

Let’s focus on the CTET and TET Difference.

• The CTET (Central Teachers’ Eligibility Test) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as per the guidelines by The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.
• Whereas the TET (Teachers’ Eligibility Test) is conducted by the Education Board of each state.
•  CBSE conducts the CTET exam twice in a year and TET is conducted by the different state boards, according to the number of vacant posts of teacher. In some state, the TET exam is conducted twice in a year and a few other states conduct this exam once a year.
• To apply for the teacher’s post in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tibetan schools and other central government schools you need to clear CTET.
• After the CTET certification, the candidate can apply for the teaching job in state schools but a candidate with TET certificate cannot apply for the teaching vacancies in schools controlled by Central Government.
• Validity years for CTET exam is 7 years. The score of TET exam remains valid for the next 5 years.
• For CTET exam no upper age limit is described for the candidates. For TET exam every state has its own age limit.
• The exam pattern is same for states’ TET and CTET exams but the CTET exam is a bit tougher than the TET exams.

Apart from all the above-mentioned differences, there is no big difference in CTET and TET. Both of the exams are mandated in their territory to teach the students.
