Answer 1: In the SAARC Video Conference 2020, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed creation of Covid-19 Emergency Fund in order to fight Corona Virus Covid-19. India is fighting Corona with strategy “Prepare, don’t panic. “

Answer 2: Donald Trump, President of United States of America, has declared national emergency over the spread of corona virus. The government of the country has also allocated 50 billion USD to fight against the disease. Same kind of emergency was once declared by former US President Bill Clinton over the spread of West Nile Virus.

Answer 3: Government of India has recently brought masks and hand sanitizers under Essential Commodities Act. Till June 30, 2020, these two products will remain under Essential Commodities Act, which means
their prices and supply can be intervened by the government . The Government has brought these commodities under the Essential Commodities Act by amending Schedule of Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

Answer 4: On March 14, 2020, the GST Council of India met for 39th meeting, headed by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman. In this recent meeting the GST on mobile phones is increased from 12% to 18%.

Answer 5: Parliament of India has passed the Direct Tax Vivad Se Viswas Bill, 2020 on March 14, 2020. The bill is aimed to reduce the number of litigation linked with direct tax payments. This concept was introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman in the Union Budget 2020-21.

Answer 6: The issue of Sir Creek between India and Pakistan is the interpretation of boundary between Kutch and Sindh. During the British rule, this boundary region was under the jurisdiction of Bombay Presidency. After independence, Sindh came under Pakistan and Kutch under India. But Pakistan claims that entire creek is under Pakistan as per the agreement signed between Government of Sindh and Rao Maharaj of Kutch in the year 1914.

Answer 8: Maharashtra Cabinet has proposed Nana Sankarseth as the new name for Mumbai Central Station. This Cabinet approved proposal is to be send to Ministry of Railways for approval.

Answer 9: Corona Virus has been declared as Global Pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) seeing the its rapid spread across the globe. The term “Pandemic” is being defined by the United States Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an epidemic spread over several countries affecting large number of people.

Answer 10: The 6th International Day of Yoga will beheld in Leh, the capital of Ladakh on 21st June 2020. The event will be led by PM Modi. It is expected that 15000 to 20000 people will attend the event.

Answer 11: An agreement has been signed between Government of India, Government of Himachal Pradesh and World Bank on Climate Resilient Rain-Fed Agriculture. A loan of 80 million USD has been signed to improve agriculture and water management practices in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Answer 12: For the first time, India has used a combination of Lopinavir and Ritonavir to treat Italian patients in India confirmed with COVID-19. Also, Indian Council of Medical Research has been authorized to research on COVID-19 drugs.

Answer 13: Union Environment Minister Prakash Javedekar has announced that it is mandatory for sanitary napkin manufactures to supply a biodegradable disposable bag with every sanitary napkin from January 2021.

Answer 14: Australia won over India by 85 runs in the final match of Women’s T20 World Cup held in Melbourn, Australia.
