Answer 1:      Indian and Japan jointly will hold a two-week-long joint military exercise “Dharma Guardian-2019” in Mizoram from Oct 19 to Nov 2, 2019, to be conducted at Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School in Vairengte, Mizoram.

Answer 2:      Significant relaxations has been announced by India in its e-visa policy/rules for Chinese nationals. The announcement was made when Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping had met for the second informal summit, in Mamallapuram, Tamil Nadu.

Answer 3:     A contract has been signed between Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore for introducing a two-year fellowship programme “Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship (MGNF) programme”. The programme is an aim to boost skill development at the district level.

Answer 4:     The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched the mHariyali mobile app to encourage public engagement in planting trees and Green drives. The application provides automatic geo- tagging of plants.

Answer 5:    The Union Minister Dr Harsha Vardhan launched the SUMAN scheme – Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan scheme at the conference of Central Council of Health and Family Welfare. This scheme has been launched to provide free medicines to pregnant women. The aim of this scheme is to reduce the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) in the country.

Answer 6:    GEMINI device has been launched by the Government of India to provide information related to disaster warning. The device has been exclusively designed for fishermen, to help them know about disasters when they are 10 to 12 km away from the coast.
