Ans.1     Pramod Sawant sworn-in as the 11th Chief Minister of Goa in a late-night ceremony, after the cremation of his predecessor, Manohar Parrikar.

Ans.2     Ms. Sharadha Menon, founder of Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), received The Hindu Lifetime Achievement Award at The Hindu World of Women 2019 Awards. This award recognizes women who have excelled in various fields.

Ans.3     Vice Admiral Karambir Singh will be the next chief of Naval Staff. At present vice admiral Karambir Singh as a flag officer commanding in chief of the Eastern Naval Command in Vishakhapatnam.

Ans.4     Pinaki Chandra Ghose, the former Supreme Court judge, is appointed as India’s first Lokpal on 19 March 2019.

Ans.11  Africa: Cyclone IDAI affected Africa badly. Countries like Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi have been hit by this vicious cyclone. Approx 150 people died due to this cyclone and many are missing.

Ans.12  The National Green Tribunal headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel asked the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to prepare a noise pollution map and to work out on an action plan to reduce it.
