UPSC IES/ISS Recruitment Online Form 2019

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released online application form for Indian Economic Service (IES)/Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Recruitment 2019. Interested candidates must check the eligibility criteria, read the notification carefully before applying online.

Important Dates

• The online application process started March 20, 2019.
• Candidates can apply online till April 16, 2019 up to 6 PM only.
• The Exam will be held on June 28, 2019.
• Candidates who do not want to appear in the exam can make use of application withdrawal service from April 23, 2019 to April 30, 2019 till 6 PM only.
• Candidates can download the admit cards in June 2019.

Application Fee

• The application fee for OBC and General candidates is Rs. 200
• The SC/ST/PH and all category females are exempted from the application fee.
• The candidates can make payment of the application fee via Debit/Credit card, net banking, Or E Challan mode.

The total number of vacancy is 65.

Post Name: Indian Economic Services (IES)
Total Post: 32
Age Limit: 21-30 years
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed or are appearing for post graduate/Master’s Degree in Economics/Business Economics/Applied Economics/Econometric from any recognized university in India are eligible to apply.

Post Name: Indian Statistical Service (ISS)
Total Post: 33
Age Limit: 21-30 years
Eligibility: Candidates who have passed or are appearing for Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematical Statistics/Statistics/Applied Statistics as a subject or have a Master’s Degree in the mentioned subjects.

Scheme of Examination

• The examination shall be conducted in two parts, the first would be written examination, and the other is Viva voce.

• The written exam will account for 1000 marks each for both IES and ISS.

• The IES exam will include questions from

General English  for 100 marks
General Studies for 100 marks
General Economics-I for 200 marks
General Economics-II for 200 marks
Indian Economics for 200 marks
The duration for each would be 3 hours.

• In the ISS exam the question will be asked from

General English for 100 marks
General Studies for 100 marks
Statistics-I (Objective) for 200 marks
Statistics-II (Objective) for 200 marks
Statistics-III (Descriptive) for 200 mark
Statistics-IV (Descriptive) for 200 mark
The duration for each would be of 3 hours.

• The Viva voce is the interview round, where candidate will be interviewed by a board of observers, who will assess the individual’s suitability for the service for which he/she have competed. This round will judge the candidate’s balance of judgement, intellectual curiosity, ability of social cohesion, critical power of assimilation, leadership capability, and integrity of character initiative.

  Visit the website www.upsconline.nic.in, click on “Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC”.
  Fill in all the required details and submit the form.
• The application form has to be completed in two stages, as Part-I and Part-II.
• Candidates must ensure that they provide the valid e-mail while filling the application form as the mode of communication would be electronic for different stages of examination process.
• The candidates are also allowed to withdraw their application if they do not want to appear in the examination. Only completed and finally submitted applications would be allowed withdrawing.
• No refund of application fee would be made in case of application withdrawal.
