GATE 2020 is scheduled for February 2019 for which result will be declared same year in the month of March. IIT Delhi will conduct GATE for the year 2020. On a rotational basis one of the seven IITs and IISc, Bangalore conducts the exam.

Prakhar Singh, who secured all India rank one in GATE 2019 in Civil Engineering, said that he failed in the first attempt but he continued his preparation by enrolling in a coaching class. GATE 2019 All India topper Shashank Mangal, who secured AIR 1 by scoring 989 marks out of 1000 in Instrumentation Engineering, said that this all became possible with his 3 months preparation. Priyansh Kimtee who secured AIR 25 in Computer Science desired to learn Machine Learning in IIT Bombay. She said that she used to study 3-4 hours a day for GATE beside her regular college studies.

Amit Kumar from Patna, Bihar secured the All India rank of one in Petroleum Engineering. He said that it was all possible due to his hard work and six months study while preparing for his B.Tech final year. Amit believed that a correct plan is the starting step to decide on the work and how it will be done and then putting it to implementation can get the desired results. Achint Chaudhary, who secured an AIR 22 is GATE 2018 Computer Science & Engineering branch, in his first attempt. His GATE score was 929. In an interview he said that this was all possible due to self-study. He also mentioned that he started GATE preparation form the end of 2nd year. Also, he mentioned that his 18 months of preparation was neither continuous nor rigorous. He also suggested GATE aspirants to immediately tests their learned knowledge on topic by trying solve the similar questions from previous papers. He also added that maintaining a healthy level of stress is important.
