PSUs are that companies where the majority of stakes are owned by Government (State or Central). We can also say that the PSUs are the government organizations which run like a private organization. In PSUs, you get the benefits of government jobs and you need to work like it is a private organization. This is the best combination that can attract any professional.

PSU offers more career opportunities in the field of engineering. Many PSUs hire the candidate on the basis of their GATE score. The recruitment through the GATE started in 2012 by some of the PSUs and this move was accepted and followed by almost all of the PSUs.

PSUs are that companies which are owned by the government of state or center but run by their own team. In India, PSU is a beneficial sector. It is sub-divided into the following categories on the basis of their net worth and annual turnover.

  • Maharatna: Following PSUs come under this category; BHEL, CIL, GAIL, IOCL, NTPC.
  • Navratna: Following PSUs come under this category; MTNL, BEL, BPCL, HAL, HPCL.
  • Miniratna Category-1: AAI, BDL, BSNL, CCIL, GSL.
  • Miniratna Category-2: EdCIL, MECON Limited, NSICL, MECL, BPCL.

Why PSUs are better placed to work

PSUs offer really good perks to their employees including many other facilities like health insurances, foreign trips, extended holidays and much more.  The jobs in PSUs are stable and they conduct training for their employees to train them about the new technologies. How to apply for PSU after GATE 2019

The application process is different for different units. Few PSUs accept only online application form and other accepts only offline application form. There are few PSUs that accept application form in both modes. To apply in the PSUs through the GATE score, the candidate needs to mention his GATE registration number in the application form. Usually, the candidate is screened on the basis of his GATE score then he is called for the group discussion and interview round. It is the PSU’s decision if they want to hire a candidate with GATE score or not.

DRDO, THDC, BPCL, Power Grid, NLC India, NTPC, Vizag steel, and few others will publish their notification in the month of January for the recruitment through GATE 2019. So aspirants, be prepare as many more opportunities to work in PSUs are on the way.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the PSUs jobs may vary. The requirement of minimum GATE score also depends on the PSUs’ decisions.   Age limit and medical standards of the candidates are also checked and considered as one of the important eligibility criteria.
