All you need to know about mobile application GARV-II

The GARV app was released by the Indian Union Power Ministry under Piyush Goyal in 2015 to monitor the progress of the government’s rural electrification scheme and to provide real-time updates of 18,452 un-electrified villages of the country.

The Union Power Ministry has been planning to launch the second version of the mobile application calling it GARV-II. The new version of the app will provide real time data of country’s all electrified and un-electrified villages, which are about six lakh. The app will also ensure transparency in the implementation of the rural electrification programme.

GARV-II App will open the progress of government’s rural electrification work to public scrutiny. Citizens of the country will be able to participate in this rural development work and can also give their input about rural electrification programme through e-mail and SMS.

What GARV-II App will provide:

The Ministry has said that progress made on works will be updated by the implementing agencies of the states on daily basis. A dashboard for Managing Directors and Superintending Engineers of electricity distribution companies of India (DISCOMs) has been provided for online monitoring.
